In her private practice as a Somatic Psychotherapist and Health Psychologist, Emily integrates our relational and somatic wisdom using Hakomi Mindful Somatic, Trauma, Depth and Eco-Psychotherapy, and Systems Theory frameworks. In research teams, she works as a Psychedelic-Assisted Psychotherapist (PAP) for both Australian and international clinical trials. She is currently involved in an MDMA for PTSD project with first responders at Monash University and two studies investigating psilocybin for depression at Swinburne University (commenced 2021 and ongoing).

Building on her somatic process work and Eastern contemplation practice over the past two decades, Emily deeply respects the healing potential of expanded states but most importantly, their mindful, practical and reciprocal integration. She is a Co-Chair of the PAP Interest Group of the Australian Association of Psychologists Incorporated (AAPi) and is supported by several international women leaders of somatic, trauma and Indigenous medicine.

Emily’s interest in consciousness studies formalised during her novel doctoral research (DPsych Health) of Australian ICU specialists' interpretation and practice of brain and cardiac death determination methods, end-of-life care and organ donation; and a Psychophysiology and Psychology co-major prior (First Class Honours contrasting the EEG coherence patterns of DID participants and aged-matched healthy controls).
