I have been registered as a psychologist for over two decades and work as the Director of The Psychology Spot, a group private practice in Wollongong. My main area of interest is helping people recover from traumatic events and adverse life experiences. These might include events in adulthood or childhood, PTSD, complex PTSD, childhood emotional neglect or other early relational and attachment difficulties.

Over the past 7 years, I have undertaken extensive additional studies in psychedelic-assisted therapies and now work with the team at Evolution at Northern Beaches Hospital in NSW, providing MDMA-assisted therapy for PTSD and psilocybin-assisted therapy for depression.

I am a Board Approved Clinical Supervisor and supporting other psychologists, therapists, leaders and mental health practitioners is one of the most enjoyable parts of my work. I’ve been providing clinical supervision for over 15 years and think of it as its own discipline, requiring unique skills and spirit that is different to usual therapeutic work. I am most interested in clinical supervision with experienced practitioners who want a place to reflect deeply on their work and are interested in the nexus between their professional identity and their personal, relational self. This form of exploration is important in understanding our therapeutic style, counter-transference, biases and blind spots.

My supervision style is influenced by Internal Family Systems (IFS) and invites exploration of “therapist parts” and their contributions to our work. I am also interested in supporting therapists on their own journey of learning Internal Family Systems therapy. I’m a Level 3 trained therapist through the international IFS Institute.

I’m an EMDR Accredited Practitioner (EMDRAA) with additional training in attachment-informed EMDR and can provide supervision that helps with implementing this trauma-specific approach into your therapeutic style. I also have years of practice and training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and the application of mindfulness meditation in therapeutic settings.
